Kris Humphries apparently wants his engagement ring back.
The basketball player proposed to Kim Kardashian with a $2 million, 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring back in May.
But now that the 31 year-old reality star has
filed for divorce after just 72 days of marriage, the scorned groom wants the pricy piece of jewellery returned, according to
Life & Style magazine.
A friend of Kim’s told the publication that she plans to comply with the
request as she does not want the divorce to get nasty and hopes that
one day she and Kris can be friends.
However Kris is said to be devastated by the split and has retreated to his hometown in Minnesota to be close to his family.
“Kris started to feel like a punching bag,” the insider revealed. “He
felt like the guy who got married to Kim on TV, not really her husband.
He felt used.”
Meanwhile, Kim has "unfollowed" her ex-husband on
Twitter.
Kim follows 152 people and has nearly 11 million followers. Kris who
only has 659 000 followers on the site continues to follow Kim.
The
Keeping Up With The Kardashians starlet is currently in Australia promoting her new handbag line and is said to be relieved to have escaped Down Under.
She spoke a little bit about her marriage breakdown while there and denied that it was all a publicity stunt.
“I mean, you know, it’s a tough situation. I think I'm trying to do the
best I can, and it's actually a bit of an escape to come here," Kim said
during a videotaped radio interview for the
Kyle and Jackie O show.
“I do want to make clear that I would never marry for a TV show, for
money, for anything like that. I think that's really ridiculous that I
have to even defend that."
"I guess, you know, that comes along with when you film your wedding for a reality show.”
The couple tied the knot back in August in a lavish ceremony in Montecito, California attended by 450 guests.
Kim announced on Tuesday that she will be donating money to charity in
lieu of returning all of the wedding gifts she received after a backlash
from fans that the whole wedding was a hoax.
