Megastar Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will be making a guest appearance as herself on The Simpsons in an episode titled “Lisa Goes Gaga.” Lady Gaga said appearing on The Simpsons is “one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.”
Lady Gaga, who is set to open the 2011 Video Music Awards on Sunday, said her dad (who we assume is a big Simpsons fan) is “probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out.”
In the “Lisa Goes Gaga” episode, Lady Gaga comes to Springfield to
cheer up the character of Lisa. She also apparently gets a bit naughty
and kisses Marge! “I play a little bit of a slut,” Gaga said of her
role. “The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.”
The voice of Lisa Simpson, Yeardley Smith, said the writers for the show describe Lady Gaga as “the happiest, most optimistic person in the world.”
In the episode, Lady Gaga not only plays herself, it is a full on
Gaga experience with a Gaga Express train and giant flame-shooting
bustier, according to EW.com.
“Since the very beginning, I’ve always wanted to have on the most iconic personalities of our time, and she’s it,” Simpsons creator Matt Groening said.
“It’s very hard to top reality with her, but I’m sure we’ll come up
with something that is going to be as improbable as her usual wardrobe.”
